ALL SAINTS CHURCHYARD PLAN

Google Maps this is not! It is however, the mark I version of the plan, a bit rough and ready but it is directly from the spreadsheet drawn up as the photography proceeded. Remember that this plan was to track the progress of the photography and link photograph numbers to a headstone or location, not to produce a scale plan or map.
The first photograph was taken in the top left hand corner of the churchyard, that is, square A1. Work then proceeded to the right until the end of the row was reached when the next row was started from the left hand side. This may help you find your way around the squares of the plan. The layout within the square reflects that, in places, the layout of the burial plots is not exactly symmetrical, hence the apparent misalignments.
A complete aerial photograph of the churchyard is not available, hence the composite picture below. Hover your mouse over the photograph to see what square is represented or click on any of the letters in the white space to go to that square.

Notes : Of course this "plan" needs a polish. The names are not complete; the inscriptions are not shown; there are additional notes evidenced by the little red dots in some cells; there are no thumbnail pictures. There is much work to be done. The long numbers refer to photograph numbers. A donation to church funds secures a copy.

There are other ancient headstones at the "Front" or North Side of the Church Building
also to South West. These plots were used before the "modern" churchyard came into use

The Cremation Plots: Looking at the image on this page it can easily be seen it is made up from two separate photographs. Look closely at the right hand portion and you can see an area consisting of rows of small rectangles, no headstones. These are the Cremation Plots. For an explanation and full details click here
