THE CREMATION PLOTS

The All Saints churchyard has been closed for burials for some years now. There may be exceptions in respect of wife's joining husbands or where a plot has been reserved in the past, though these are very few in number. There is one area however, where burials can still take place.
These burials are the internment of the cremated remains of a person and an area is reserved to the right of the churchyard as you look south east (that is with the church behind you). They are the small rectangles you see in pictures of the churchyard. This area is therefore subject to change and possible enlargement in the future. Nevertheless, in the spirit of this project, all of the current plots have been photographed as of 28 May 2010.
The names of those interred are set out below. If you should visit the churchyard to seek out a plot it is natural to stand so that you can easily read the inscriptions normally, as you would read a book from left to right. Indeed they were photographed in this order, the first picture taken was of the plot in the top left hand corner of the cremation plots. The plan list below reflects this; hence if you are looking for a plot, row 1, plot 1 is the top left hand corner. Unfortunately there is a collision between technology and reality, as it is not possible to display the entire plan at once with a readable print size, use the scroll bars to move around.

AREA ONE - THE LONG AREA

AREA TWO - THE SMALL AREA

new_unnamed_plotAs can be seen in the plan below, the first plot shown is that of Colin Hovers. When the picture was taken it seems that a new, as yet unamed, plot has been created to the left of Colin Hovers, as can be seen in the photograph right. As stated in the opening paragraphs, the cremated remains area is likely to be subject to change.
